Perfect buy

The Prera pen has all the qualities that have made Pilot such a success. Reliable, nice quasi vintage design, perfect converter, good flow of ink, I would recommend that pen, it's absolutly worth going the extra dollars over the entry level pens

Lives upto the advertising

I have been using a Waterman Laureat since the late 1980s, but have long felt that my writing might actually benefit from a change to a fine nib. Finally, got around to do something about this and purchased a blue Pilot Prera from Knight’s Writing Company just to try out a fine nib. Delivery was within three working days. This pen writes really well and lays down a smooth flow of ink (Pilot kon-peki), without scratching or hesitation, on just about any paper. It is a small, light-weight pen, exactly what I prefer to use. I use it uncapped and it sits comfortably my large hand making writing an effortless process; I feel I could write with this pen all day and not get fatigued. I’m impressed with the Pilot Prera, it represents very good value for money and lives up to the advertising as I see this becoming my workhorse fountain pen. My regret is that I did not move to a fine nib and Pilot years ago.

Awesome Daily Carry Pen

This is one of my favorite writing tools. I now own 3, with another on the way. I have Fine/Medium/Calligraphy nibs and all write equally beautifully. With a Con-50 converter you get to use all your favorite bottled inks. Iroshizuku or Namiki and Noodlers or Sailor/Kobe/BungBox. This pen in fine will love those inks and lay down clean lines. I almost always have at least one of these on me. I even have swapped a broad nib from a Pilot 78g so I could write Christmas cards with friends at a party. Everyone wanted to use my Prera. While I'd love a Custom 74 in blue, this was more affordable with my budget. I have large hands and even though this is a smaller pocket pen, posted it is perfect sized/balanced for writing several pages or just signing a check or receipt.
